CleanSweep
May 20th, 9:00 - noon. The CleanSweep event covers 20 service areas throughout the Village, including all 4 parks. We are planning for teams of 6 to 10 people per sponsor (service area). Each team will need to spend up to 2 hours of service in their area. There will be free refreshments and pizza from local restaurants, and a T-shirt for all volunteers.
Our East Rochester CleanSweep is an event sponsored by the Town/Village of East Rochester and the ER Chamber in which volunteers cleanup East Rochester, promote green solutions, and participate in enriching the community.
Event Day Schedule
7:30 to 8:00 Arrive, Check-in, Receive T-Shirts, Enjoy continental breakfast, Get pictures taken
8:30 to 9:00 Receive street assignments & cleaning supplies
9:00 to 11:30 Work out in the Community
11:45 Return to Eyer Building (Community Center) turn in leftover supplies
12:00 Enjoy the East Rochester CleanSweep Best Pizza Contest by eating & voting!
Ways a Business, Club or Individual Can Participate
- CleanSweep Volunteers:
Have your business, clubs, teams, and individuals help clean the East Rochester streets the day of the event. Volunteers must be at least 10 years old or have completed 4th grade. Volunteers will meet in the community center at 317 Main Street at 8:00 am the morning of the event. All volunteers will receive a CleanSweep T-shirt to take home and are asked to participate at 12:00 in the East Rochester CleanSweep Best Pizza contest by eating and voting!
- CleanSweep Best Pizza Contest:
Approximately 2 sheet pizzas from each restaurant will be entered in the East Rochester CleanSweep Best Pizza contest. CleanSweep volunteers will be the judges and determine the best pizza immediately following the clean-up.
- CleanSweep Scrap Metal Collection:
Contribute your scrap metal to the East Rochester Parks Department program the day of the event by bringing your scrap metal to the 317 Main Street parking lot.
