The Monroe County First Time Homebuyer Grant Program

The Housing Council of PathStone

The Monroe County Fist Time Homebuyer Grant Program is available to people that meet defined qualifications. For additional information, call 585-486-3700.

To Qualify:

  • Must be a First TIme Homebuyer (must not have owned a home in the last 3 years)
  • Must be income eligible* by household size (see below)
  • Property MUST be purchased in a Monroe County town or village, excluding the City of Rochester
  • The household must attend an 8-hour Homebuyer Workshop
  • The grant can be used for down payment and/or closing costs
  • The household cannot be under contract to purchase before they receive a Financial Assistance Letter from The Housing Council at PathStone

HOUSEHOLD MAXIMUM INCOME LIMITS:

1 Person $41,450 5 People $63,950
2 People $47,400 6 People $68,700
3 People $53,300 7 People $73,450
4 People $59,200 8 People + $78,150

New York Forward

The Town/Village of East Rochester is exploring submission of a 2026 NY Forward application and is seeking public input to help guide the process and identify potential projects.

The Town/Village of East Rochester is holding a Public Information meeting, calling for projects on Tuesday June 23rd at 6:00 pm in the Jean Daniel Community Center, located at 317 Main Street. We would encourage anyone wishing to serve on the committee as well as any potential project sponsors to be in attendance. The intent will be for potential project sponsors to discuss their ideas with the public.
