COVID-19 CDC & NY State Update

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that New York State will follow the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention guidelines for masking and physical distancing for people who have been vaccinated. Individuals that have not been vaccinated are still required to mask up when entering the facilities.

Beginning Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 if you have received your COVID-19 vaccine, you will no longer need your mask, or to continue to physical distance in most places across New York State. This new guidance will be in effect for the Eyer Building & Public Works Garage.

The guidance still calls for wearing masks in crowded indoor settings like buses, planes, hospitals, prisons and homeless shelters but it will help clear the way for reopening workplaces, schools, and other venues. This will even remove the need for social distancing for those who are fully vaccinated.

Check back for updates.

THE CLASS OF ‘65

THE CLASS OF ‘65

Three years ago, I wrote about the Class of 1927—celebrating their 95th anniversary.  I gathered information from the high school journal of a member of the class, Josephine Furman.  Last year, I wrote about the Class of 1944—using writings from their Gagashoan and interviews with two class members, Nick Verzella and Tom Conners.

This summer I have chosen to write about the Class of 1965 (my class), the largest class in the history of our school district.
